Highlight of our Accomplishments

    • Froedtert South received high recognition from the Commission on Cancer American College of Surgeons survey, earning “Accreditation with Commendation.”  This accomplishment is only shared by 40% of cancer programs in the United States, showing that Froedtert South’s cancer program is among the best in the country.

    • Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) is now offered at the Cancer Center.  IGRT allows our team of cancer experts to treat cancers more aggressively, minimize treatment related side effects, and deliver radiation with pinpoint accuracy and precision.
    • A Rehabilitation Program for Head & Neck Cancer Patients is now offered to address quality of life issues for head & neck cancer patients before, during, and after cancer treatment promoting quality improvement and comprehensive care in the
    • Cancer Conferences providing multidisciplinary consultative services for cases treated at our facility were held throughout the year.
    • Educational opportunities related to oncology were held throughout the year to provide specialized knowledge to the professional staff of Froedtert South.
    • A New Patient Orientation Program was offered giving patients the opportunity to meet members of our healthcare team, learn about our cancer services, and ask questions directly to healthcare professionals.  The program was offered bi-monthly to patients and their family members.
    • Cancer Support Groups were held the third Thursday of every month.  Topics of discussion varied at each meeting depending on the needs of the attendees.
    • Froedtert South held Look Good Feel Better Workshops quarterly. This program, offered in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, provides practical hands on experience for female cancer patients to learn about skin care and beauty tips to look good and feel better during their cancer treatments.  Attendance for the workshop was the best community attendance in the history of the Midwest Region by exceeding the expectations by 300%.
    • Froedtert South’s employees participated in numerous community outreach events including the Relay for Life and Run for the Cure; two major fund raiser events sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
    • To serve our cancer patients and the general community, prevention and early detection programs, health fairs and community education programs were offered throughout the year, including, but not limited to:
      • African American Cancer Event (Jane Cremer Foundation);
      • Hispanic Breast Cancer Event (Jane Cremer Foundation) ;
      • Knowing Your Family History and Genetic Counseling Event (Jane Cremer Foundation);
      • Prostate Cancer Screening Clinics which were held in September;
      • Skin Cancer Screening Clinic;
      • A digital mammography screening which was donated to the 3rd Annual Susan B. Komen Bowl for the Cure Fundraiser.
